Busy lady smiling with a horse

Hi, I'm Rach

There’s a bit of a theme running through my working life: I like making things happen and keeping things organised. My working life has taken me down a few different paths, from hospitality and veterinary practices to office and secretarial roles, site management and research. Along the way, I’ve found myself organising people and information, solving problems, keeping things moving and generally making sure things get done. It’s something I’ve always been comfortable with, and I’ve picked up plenty of skills along the way too. I’m confident learning new systems and software, working things out for myself and getting stuck in when something needs doing.More than just adminI’m relatively new to working as a Virtual Assistant, but I’m certainly not new to getting things organised, dealing with people or taking responsibility.Over the years, I’ve organised and run successful equestrian events, set up and managed a Community Interest Company and spent several years as Secretary of the Roussin Sheep Society. I’ve also worked in busy environments where keeping records up to date, coordinating people and handling the day-to-day details properly really mattered. That mix of experience has taught me to be practical, adaptable and dependable. I like knowing what needs to be done, working out how to do it and getting on with it.At home in the countrysideI’m from a farming family, so the countryside, livestock and horses have always been a big part of my life. It’s something I’ve carried with me throughout my working life, and it’s probably why I feel particularly at home working with businesses and organisations connected to agriculture, equestrian and countryside life.

A little more about me...

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me outside with my horses and my whippet. Horses are my favourite way to switch off, clear my head and step away from the to-do list for a while. There’s something about being outside that puts everything back into perspective.I’m a mum, a wife, a horse owner and, depending on the day, usually someone with a cup of tea and a piece of cake somewhere nearby!

What matters to me...

I value honesty, professionalism and good communication, and I believe the best working relationships are built on trust, respect and doing what you say you’ll do.That’s the sort of working relationship I want with my clients too: straightforward, professional and collaborative, with everyone knowing where they stand.Ultimately, I want working with me to feel straightforward. You hand over the jobs you don't need to be doing yourself, and you can trust me to get on with them.

No jargon. No unnecessary fuss. Just friendly, reliable support when you need it.

You're busy. Your to-do list doesn't care.

Enquiries need answering. Newsletters need sending. Records need updating. Meetings need organising. They might only take a few minutes each — but when there are dozens of them competing for your attention, the minutes soon add up.That’s where the right support can make a real difference.I provide reliable, practical back-office support for small businesses and organisations who have plenty to do, but not enough hours in the day to do it all themselves. What I can take care of:Email Enquiries - keeping potential clients from waiting days for a reply.
Newsletters and communications - getting information formatted, checked and sent.
Records and administration - keeping important information organised and up to date.
Meetings and minutes - taking care of the practical details that keep things moving.
Research - doing the legwork so you don't have to.
Event planning and coordination - sharing the workload.

Email Enquiries
A steady stream of enquiries can be difficult to keep on top of when you’re already busy with clients and other priorities and an unanswered enquiry can mean a missed opportunity.
I'll respond to enquiries on your behalf, making sure potential clients, members or customers receive a timely and professional response while you get on with the work that only you can do.

Newsletters and communications
You know keeping clients or members informed is important, but finding the time to put together and send regular communications can be another job that keeps getting pushed down the list.
I'll manage communication from newsletters to regular updates so you stay front on mind with your clients and customers.

Records and administration
Keeping records accurate and up to date is essential, but it’s easy for this kind of admin to slip when something more urgent needs your attention.
I'll support you to maintain client and member records, keeping information organised and current so you can find what you need without having to work through the detail yourself.

Meetings and minutes
There’s more to organising a meeting than finding a date that works. Invitations, information, arrangements and minutes all need dealing with before and after the meeting.
I'll take care of the practical details before the meeting and deal with the minutes afterwards, keeping everything moving without it all landing on your desk.

Research
Sometimes you know exactly what information you need — you just don’t have the time to find it.
Whether you need information gathered, options researched or details pulled together, I can carry out the research and present the relevant information clearly, giving you what you need to make the next step.

Event planning and coordination
Events involve many moving parts, from organising practical details to communicating with the people involved and keeping track of what needs to happen when.
I can help coordinate the practical side of your event, keeping the details organised and helping everything stay on track.

What's slowing you down? Let me know→

You stay focused on your clients and your business. I’ll keep the essential jobs moving in the background.

Simple. Straightforward pricing.

My rate is £35 per hour. For all new clients, I start with ad hoc hours. There’s no long-term commitment, no fixed package and no pressure to sign up for a set number of hours. We can start with the work you need help with, see how we work together and build from there if it’s a good fit for both of us.You’ll know exactly what you’re paying for, and you can decide what you’d like me to take off your hands. So, what are you actually paying for? You’re not paying for someone simply to sit at a desk and work through a list of admin. You’re paying for someone who knows what they’re doing, takes responsibility for the work, gets on with it without needing to be managed and understands the importance of getting things right. You’re paying for capacity. For the enquiries that get answered while you’re working with a client.
For the newsletter that actually gets created and sent.
For the records that stay up to date.
For the jobs that stop following you into your evenings.
And ultimately, you’re paying for the space to focus on the work that only you can do.Is it time to get some of those jobs off your list?
